Website launch: Annalect.com

We are proud to have launched a responsive website for Annalect.com. A major player in the world of data analytics, Annalect sought to update their branding with a lighter, more flexible tone to allow for a more straightforward approach to content strategy. This was a year-long process as we first updated the branding, then addressed various collateral needs and finally completed the effort by overhauling Annalect’s digital channels.

The new website is a custom Wordpress solution that utilizes a more visual blog format. The site also integrates with a third party marketing and analytics platform. Additional features include a custom post type to handle executive profiles as well as a customized look and feel for Google Maps API. And, oh yeah — the site is fully responsive and works great across mobile devices.

We’re looking forward to launching additional enhancements later this year!

Other Serious Matters: Music

A few of the Swissted posters adorning the Pow walls

If you haven't met the crew at POW, yet, I'm gonna put this out there: we're really into our music.

We've got a resident hip-hop aficionado. A fella who can sing practically every 80's song out there (ok, maybe we're exaggerating just a little...) And three folks who play in a sludge metal/post-punk/scat wop band. We're still trying to figure it out... The string that binds us all is our love for Third Eye Blind's, How's It Going To Be. Jimmy may say otherwise, but we're all pretty into that song.

With all that being said, our daily playlist varies widely from hour to hour, day to day. It runs the gamut from heavy metal to acid lounge and everything in between. (Though under my airwave dictatorship, it generally errs on the side of fast and furious.) Fridays hare strictly dedicated to 80s and 90s. No ifs, ands, or buts.

If any of you web surfing creatures are interested in what the POW office is jamming to while cranking out some fly work, stream our Daily POW playlist here:

The Daily POW

We've also implemented a widget in the right rail of powinteractive.com that currently displays the past five tunes we've been jamming. Check that out if you wanna get into our headspace for a minute.

Also, don't forget to stop by our open house, Monday, October 6th from 4-7 pm for Design Week Portland. It'll be our fourth month of being here in Portland, and we'd love to meet some new faces, talk design (or music), and have drinks with you all!

Welcome to the Pow blog!

For four-plus years now, Pow has delivered design solutions for a variety of clients, ranging from large corporations to smaller organizations and start-ups. The output has included user interface design for web and mobile, end-to-end branding systems, and everything in-between. And we've helped shape a business model (or two) along the way. We’ve also greatly expanded our development capabilities and technical expertise over our company's short lifetime and expect to continue to grow as we undertake new challenges and improve upon our skill sets.

For anyone interested in learning more about Pow Interactive, I intend this blog to show a more personal side of our company and the people who make it great. The plan is that everyone on the team will be posting regularly. We’ll talk about what’s going on, what we’re into and sometimes what we’re not into. I hope things will stay loose and fun, but also show how dedicated and talented our team is. I can’t really set expections beyond that because I’m not entirely sure how things will unfold, but I encourage anyone interested to join in the discourse via the comments.

It’s hard to kick off this website and blog without mentioning that we recently relocated the company from Brooklyn, New York to Portland, Oregon. I was lucky enough to have some key team members make the move with me, which I am forever thankful for. The reasons for the move (for me) are personal and worthy of a separate blog post. For now, suffice it to say we’re entering a new chapter in the Pow story, complete with new Oregonian team members as well as a new office space.

Let the blogging begin!

Thanks,
Jimmy
